Musicians must currently be pursuing graduate studies, or have completed undergraduate or graduate studies within the past 5 years.
LAB-A's sign-ups are on a per-concert basis.
Sign-ups will made available to the public through social media platforms, and emailed directly to returning players. For almost all concerts, sign-ups are first come, first serve. Please sign up promptly if you want to ensure you’ll play a concert. Signing up for a concert is a commitment to perform as per the attendance expectations.
We will try to expand the ensemble to accommodate more performers where possible, but some concert programs may require us to cap ensemble size.
To facilitate a productive rehearsal and performance environment, we expect the following when performers sign up for a concert cycle:
Per cycle, performers may miss a maximum of one general rehearsal only. Performers cannot miss that concert’s dress rehearsal. If possible, perfomers should try to find a subsitute for missed rehearsals.
Performers must communicate any planned absences by email to the LAB-A personnel manager prior to the beginning of that concert cycle.
Parts are rotated within each concert cycle to ensure equal opportunity.
Part rotations are announced prior to the first rehearsal.
We have an open-door policy -- if you feel rotations have been designated unfairly or an oversight has been made, please bring your concerns to the leadership team.
