Calling all composers -- our annual new music concert is back for 2026! Help us bring brass ensemble to the 21st century with the help of LA-based emerging composers and trumpeter, composer and producer Dan Rosenboom, who will premiere his new trumpet concerto with LAB-A.

LAB-A paid homage to the rich tradition of brass bands across the pond (with a Los Angeles twist)! Featuring California State University Northridge horn faculty Dylan Hart and soloist Jordyn Brown, we explored the living traditions of brass band, cutting edge brass band compositions, and much more. 

In a swanky concert inspired by the glitz and glamour of late-night TV, LAB-A brought holiday favorites and new classics to life. With a live band, host Katie Kelley, and special guests Tiffany Johns and John Snell, it was a festive and memorable evening.

This family-friendly, comedy-filled concert featured the music of spaghetti Westerns, with soundtracks from A Few Dollars More, Silverado, The Cowboys, and many others. 

Guest artist Good Time Brass from the Wild West of Los Angeles performed in full cowboy garb, and kicked off our evening of rip-roaring Western music! Trumpet soloists Ben Gunnarson and Dr. Ellen Shinogle faced off on Kevin McKee's Under Western Skies.

We had a blast at our annual season kickoff, where we read through some of our greatest hits, explored the world of mouthpiece selection with Bob Reeves Brass Mouthpieces, and welcomed the ensemble back to our 25-26 season!
