Director
Richie Francisco (he/him) is a Los Angeles-based trumpet player and teacher. He currently serves as second trumpet in the Civic Orchestra of Los Angeles, principal trumpet in the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra, and is a former associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Richie is also an active chamber musician performing regularly with the Brass Elephant Quintet and the Cali Brass Band. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in trumpet performance from Cal State Northridge and the University of Southern California, respectively.
In addition to his performance, Richie is a passionate educator with the Inglewood Unified School District and the Pasadena Youth Symphony. He takes pride in advocating for equitable access to musical resources for all who seek them, and is grateful to serve on the board for LAB-A. When he is not playing or teaching music, you can find him in the kitchen cooking for his wife.
