Percussion Coordinator
Alyssa French is a collaborative pianist and percussionist from Santa Monica, California. As a solo pianist, she has performed internationally in Acqui Terme, Italy, and Beijing, China, as well as at Weill Hall in New York. She earned an AA in Percussion Performance from Santa Monica College, studying with Aaron Smith and Megumi Smith. After transferring to California State University, Northridge, she received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance studying with Dr. Dmitry Rachmanov, and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano under the guidance of Dr. Tali Tadmor.
Alyssa has served as Assistant Music Director for CSUN opera productions of Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, Mozart’s Così fan tutte and The Magic Flute, and Puccini’s La Bohème. In addition to opera, she is an experienced music director for musical theater, having worked on Urinetown, 1776, and Between the Lines this past spring. She is passionate about vocal collaboration and opera, continually striving to bring expressive and engaging performances to the stage. As a percussionist, she is a member of the Passacaglia Chamber Orchestra, based in Santa Monica, and frequently participates in the CSUN Symphony.
